I've been reading Ashton Kahn's book A Love Supreme: The Story of John Coltrane's Signature Album. In it he talks about the relationship Miles Davis and John Coltrane had, especially during the last tour before Coltrane really broke out on his own. I think this clip illustrates their relationship well, and shows both as masters of their craft. But such different masters.
